If you’re looking for friendly, fun-filled, fact-packed courses on animal husbandry and rural skills – a great team-building or group experience – or you just like cider – then you’ve found the right place. You can also stay here on our carbon neutral, nature friendly farm.
Join us on our traditional, family-run, mixed farm in Monmouthshire. Perhaps best known as the BBC’s first Lambing Live location, Tre-rhew has also featured in The Baker (Damien Lewis), BBC’s The One Show, Will it Snow and Great British Weather; it’s a unique and very special place.
We promise you a high-energy, highly informative day; full of real insider insights, a few ‘tricks of the trade’ and great hands on experiences… bring your wellies and prepare to get mucky!
Whether you’re a ‘hobby-ist’, smallholder or farmer… you’ll get hands-on experiences, answers to your nagging questions and practical hints & tips to make life a little easier.
Professional, qualified tuition… from Jim and myself, supported by a few friends and family members; it’s very hands-on and down-to-earth, with lots of learning and plenty of laughs.
On a real, working farm… unlike many other courses, you’ll get to be part of life for a day on a 300 acre mixed farm, amongst our sheep, cattle, pigs, chickens, crops, wildlife and pets.
Limited numbers… we keep courses and events small to make sure you get exactly what you need from your day and to ensure you fit around our kitchen table; it’s more personal, focused and friendly this way.
On-going support… you get a comprehensive information pack to take home and can call or email us for advice and support whenever you need (daylight hours please!); we’re here to help.
And for groups and VIP days… we tailor things just for you. Corporate team building, group events, birthdays, weddings, hen and stag dos: we love to welcome you here!
Kate’s Country School is all about sharing our passion for farming, cider, the countryside and traditional skills with you; we look forward to welcoming you into our extended farming family and sharing our farm with you for the day…
